Commemorative Postage Stamps on 2014 FIFA World Cup


A set of four Commemorative Postage Stamps on 2014 FIFA World Cup will be released by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 12th  June, 2014 in Delhi at 18.00 Hrs. The sale of said stamp will be commenced after 1830 Hrs at all the Philatelic Bureaux. 


All are requested to open a philatelic deposit account (PDA) at philatelic counter which is functioning at Namakkal and Tiruchengodu Head Post Office and to get new commemorative postage stamps and stationary items at door step by free of cost.  Don't miss this opportunity.

DOPT Orders on clarification on increase in certain allowances by further 25% as a result of enhancement of Dearness Allowances w.e.f. 1.1.2014

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Clarification on increase in certain allowances by further 25% as a result of enhancement of Dearness Allowances w.e.f. 1.1.2014

The undersigned is directed to refer to para 1(j) of this Department’s 0M. No.12011/03/2008-Estt. (Allowance) dated 2.9.2008. This provides that the limits of Children Education Allowance would be automatically raised by 25% every time the Dearness Allowance on the revised pay structure goes up by 50%. References are being received from various quarters with regard to the amount of Children Education Allowance admissible consequent upon enhancement of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees @ 100% w.e.f. 1 January, 2014 announced vide Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure O.M. No.1/l/2014-E-1I (B) dated 27th March, 2014.

2. In accordance with the above, the following shall be the revised limits:

a) The annual ceiling limit for reimbursement of Children Education Allowance shall be Rs.18,000/- per child. Accordingly, the quarterly claim could be more than Rs.4500/- in one quarter. The Hostel Subsidy shall be Rs.4500/- per month per child;

b) The rates of Special Allowance for Child Care to women with disabilities stands revised to Rs. 1500/- per month; and

c) The annual ceiling for reimbursement of Children Education Allowance for disabled children of Government employees shall be treated as revised to Rs.36,000/- per annum per child and the rates of Hostel Subsidy for disabled children of Government employees shall be treated as revised to Rs.9000/- per child per month.

3. These revisions are applicable with effect from 1st January, 2014.

4. These revisions shall be subject to other terms and conditions mentioned in this Department’s O.M. No.12011/03/2008-Estt (Allowance) dated 2.9.2008, O.M. No.12011/04/2008 dated 11.9.2008 and 12011/07(i)12011-Estt.(AL) dated 21.2.2012.

Sub:     Incentive for excellence in academic achievements in 10th and 12th Classes by the
Children of postal employees for the year 2013-14 – reg

1.As per the decision of the postal services staff welfare board vide Directorate’s letter No.15016-1/86-WL/Sports dated 30.07.1990, applications for grant of incentive for excellence in academic achievements by the children of the postal employees in 10th and 12th classes for the year 2013-14 are called for.

2.under this scheme 5 awards will be given for the best five children of the staff in each of the following classes/Groups on the basis of their marks secured in 10th and 12th standards board examinations for the year 2013-14 subject to the minimum % of marks shown against each group viz.

   The applicants who have obtained marks lesser than as above need not send their applications.

3.The quantum of awards for each category will be as follows:
v  1st position in the circle          -           Rs.1000/-
v  2nd position in the circle          -           Rs.800/-
v  3rd position in the circle          -           Rs.700/-
v  4th position in the circle          -           Rs.600/-
v  5th position in the circle          -           Rs.500/-

4.There will be no pay limits or reservations for these awards. The scheme is open only to the children of Postal employees. Willing officials has to apply in the proforma enclosed along with attested copy of the mark list. Incomplete applications will be rejected and no further correspondence will be made.

5.Applications in respect of staff working at your control should submit the duly filled in application to this office on or before 04.07.14.

6.The application received without attested copy of mark sheet and after the due date will be rejected.

7.It should be brought to the notice of all the official including those who are on leave, training, deputation etc., without fail.

8.GDS officials should not apply in response to this letter. Application from GDS officials will be called for separately by the Regions concerned.
